What to Expect on Trans Pyrenees Race

Trans Pyrenees Race (TPR) is a self-supported ultra-distance cycling race that traverses the Pyrenees from the Atlantic Ocean to the Mediterranean Sea—and then all the way back again. Organised by Lost Dot, the event challenges riders to conquer one of Europe’s greatest mountain ranges on a demanding out-and-back journey through Spain, France, and Andorra.

The route covers approximately 2,000 kilometres with around 40,000 metres of elevation gain, following a fixed GPX across the full length of the Pyrenees. Riders tackle many of the region’s most iconic climbs, remote valleys, and spectacular mountain roads, passing through legendary cycling terrain while facing relentless elevation and constantly changing weather conditions.

Trans Pyrenees Race follows Lost Dot’s strict self-supported philosophy. Riders are responsible for their own navigation, food, accommodation, and mechanical repairs, with no outside assistance permitted. The clock never stops, making route planning, pacing, and recovery just as important as climbing strength and endurance.

With its endless mountain passes, breathtaking scenery, and uncompromising format, Trans Pyrenees Race is regarded as one of Europe’s toughest road ultras. It is a true test of resilience for riders looking to experience the full length of the Pyrenees—twice.
