Created by ultra-cyclist and world record holder Daniel Steinhauser, the event is designed for riders seeking a demanding self-supported road adventure through one of Europe’s premier cycling destinations.
Starting and finishing in Bad Waldsee, Germany, the route covers 430 kilometres with approximately 7,000 metres of elevation gain. Riders follow a fixed GPX through the Allgäu, crossing into Tyrol, Austria, before tackling a series of scenic alpine climbs, fast descents, and quiet country roads that showcase the region’s spectacular mountain landscapes.
Spätzle Road King follows a strict self-supported philosophy. Riders are responsible for their own navigation, food, accommodation, and mechanical repairs, with no outside assistance permitted.
