La Périphérie is a self-supported ultra-endurance cycling event that blends competition with adventure. Following a fixed route, riders decide their own pace, strategy, and style — racing hard for a fast finish or taking a slower, exploratory approach. There are no time limits, but every participant must be entirely self-sufficient: no outside assistance, no drafting, and no shortcuts.
The event champions fairness, respect for nature, and equal opportunity for all riders. Mandatory safety gear, compliance with local laws, and a “leave no trace” ethic are central to its rules. Beyond the challenge of distance and terrain, La Périphérie is about freedom, self-reliance, and community — giving cyclists a chance to push their limits while experiencing the landscapes and cultures along the way.
Based on this event's terrain, difficulty and riding style.
Riders taking on La Peripherie will cover 2500 km.
La Peripherie's terrain calls for a Endurance Road Bike, ideally running 30-35mm Tubeless tires. On the drivetrain side, a 46/30T-50/34T (2x) chainring matched to a 10-36T cassette gives enough range for the climbing involved.
We rate La Peripherie as Extreme overall. Riders should be ready for mostly smooth, fast-rolling surfaces, and mild and generally comfortable conditions.
Mark your calendar for June 29, 2026 — La Peripherie's summer timing means with long daylight hours, though heat can become a real factor.
La Peripherie runs primarily on road, and we'd recommend 30-35mm Tubeless tires to handle it comfortably.
