BER–CPH Gravel is a self-supported ultra-distance gravel race that connects Berlin and Copenhagen through forests, farmland, and the scenic Baltic coastline. As the second chapter of the Nordic Chase series, it offers riders a fast yet adventurous journey across Germany and Denmark, combining flowing gravel roads with quiet country lanes and a ferry crossing across the Baltic Sea.
The route covers approximately 730 kilometres with around 4,000 metres of elevation gain, starting in Berlin, Germany, and finishing in Copenhagen, Denmark. Riders follow a fixed GPX route through dense woodlands, open agricultural landscapes, and coastal gravel tracks before crossing by ferry from Puttgarden to Rødby. After arriving in Denmark, the route continues across the gravel roads and cycle paths of Zealand (Sjælland) before reaching the finish in the Danish capital.
BER–CPH Gravel follows a strict self-supported philosophy. Riders are responsible for their own navigation, accommodation, food, ferry logistics, and mechanical repairs, with no outside assistance permitted. A 100-hour time limit rewards efficient pacing and smart decision-making while allowing riders to choose between racing for the podium or simply enjoying the adventure.
Blending smooth gravel, Nordic landscapes, and an international point-to-point route, BER–CPH Gravel offers an approachable yet rewarding ultra-distance challenge. For riders looking to experience the best of northern European gravel riding, it delivers an unforgettable journey from the vibrant streets of Berlin to the waterfront of Copenhagen.
