What to Expect on Triangle of Gravel

Triangle of Gravel is a guided gravel bikepacking adventure that explores the spectacular mountain landscapes of Switzerland and Italy. Rather than a race, the event is designed for riders who want to experience world-class gravel routes, local culture, and regional cuisine while travelling through some of the Alps’ most breathtaking scenery.

The four-day journey covers approximately 230 kilometres with around 3,900 metres of elevation gain, starting and finishing in St. Moritz, Switzerland. The route forms a loop through the Engadin, Bregaglia, Valchiavenna, Valtellina, and Valposchiavo, crossing high alpine passes, riding beside glacial lakes, descending into Mediterranean valleys, and returning over the iconic Bernina Pass. Riders can choose between two route levels each day, making the experience accessible to both newer and more experienced gravel cyclists.

Unlike traditional bikepacking events, Triangle of Gravel combines self-supported riding during the day with the comfort of organised accommodation and luggage transfers. Small groups, experienced guides, and carefully selected local hotels allow participants to focus on the riding while enjoying authentic regional food and hospitality.

From the glaciers of the Engadin to the vineyards of Valtellina and the palm trees near Lake Como, Triangle of Gravel showcases an extraordinary contrast of landscapes within just a few days. Blending alpine adventure, exceptional gravel riding, and Swiss-Italian culture, it offers a memorable bikepacking experience for anyone looking to explore the Alps beyond the beaten path.
