UltraBiking Sardinia is a self-supported ultra-distance cycling event that showcases the wild beauty of Sardinia, combining relentless climbing with spectacular coastal roads, rugged mountains, and remote inland landscapes. Designed for experienced endurance cyclists, the event is a true test of resilience, navigation, and self-reliance.
The 2026 edition covers approximately 1,000 kilometres with 19,000 metres of elevation gain, starting and finishing in Alghero, Italy. Riders follow a fixed GPX route around the island, tackling iconic climbs such as Genna Silana while crossing the dramatic landscapes of the Supramonte, Ogliastra, Gallura, and the island’s mountainous interior before returning to the Mediterranean coast.
UltraBiking Sardinia follows a strict self-supported philosophy. Riders are responsible for their own navigation, food, accommodation, and mechanical repairs, with no outside assistance or drafting permitted. With a 90-hour time limit, careful pacing, resupply planning, and mental resilience are just as important as physical strength.
From turquoise coastlines and ancient villages to steep mountain passes and remote wilderness, UltraBiking Sardinia offers one of Europe’s most demanding road ultras. It is an unforgettable journey around one of the Mediterranean’s most spectacular islands.
