Iberica-Traversa crosses the Iberian Peninsula from the Bay of Biscay to the Strait of Gibraltar, taking riders on an unforgettable self-supported journey through some of Spain’s most remote and spectacular landscapes. With a choice of road or gravel & trail routes, the event combines ultra-distance endurance with the freedom and adventure of bikepacking.
The gravel & trail route covers 1,723 kilometres with 29,427 metres of elevation gain, while the road route stretches to 1,812 kilometres with 27,325 metres of climbing. Both start in Irun and finish in Tarifa, passing through iconic locations including the Bardenas Reales, Gorafe Desert, Granada, Ronda, and the climb to Pico del Veleta on the road route. Riders must also reach a series of mandatory checkpoints along the fixed GPX route.
Iberica-Traversa follows a strict self-supported philosophy. Riders are responsible for their own navigation, food, accommodation, and mechanical repairs, with no outside assistance permitted. Available in solo and pair categories, the event has no time limit, allowing participants to experience the route at their own pace while embracing the spirit of long-distance adventure.
From the deserts of Andalusia and the vineyards of central Spain to medieval villages and Europe’s highest paved road, Iberica-Traversa is one of the continent’s most rewarding bikepacking adventures. It is a journey that blends epic scenery, demanding terrain, and complete self-reliance from coast to coast.

Iberica Traversa – Gravel's terrain calls for a Gravel Bike, ideally running 45-50mm Tubeless tires. On the drivetrain side, a 38-40T (1x) chainring matched to a 10-51T cassette gives enough range for the climbing involved.
