Sneak Peaks is a self-supported high-alpine bikepacking expedition that takes riders deep into the Italian Dolomites and, on the longest route, into the Julian Alps of Slovenia. Organised by Orbit360, the event is designed around adventure, community, and spectacular mountain landscapes rather than pure competition.
The event starts and finishes in Bolzano, Italy, offering three route options. The flagship Adventure route covers 1,100 kilometres with an incredible 40,000 metres of elevation gain, while the Classic route is 800 km / 28,000 m and the Entree route is 500 km / 17,000 m. Riders follow a fixed GPX through remote alpine valleys, rugged gravel roads, mountain trails, and high-altitude passes, with carefully selected mountain huts (rifugios) serving as checkpoints throughout the journey.
Sneak Peaks follows a strict self-supported philosophy. Riders are responsible for their own navigation, food, accommodation, and mechanical repairs, with no outside assistance permitted. Unlike many ultra races, riding together is encouraged in the spirit of traditional Audax events, creating an atmosphere where camaraderie is valued as much as endurance. Sustainability is also central to the event, with initiatives such as #NoFlyRide and carbon-offsetting helping reduce its environmental impact.
With its relentless climbing, breathtaking alpine scenery, and unique community-driven approach, Sneak Peaks has quickly become one of Europe’s most demanding and memorable bikepacking adventures.
