SUCH (Swiss Ultracycling Challenge) is a unique self-supported ultra that invites riders to discover every corner of Switzerland through a route that is as strategic as it is demanding. Covering approximately 1,000 kilometres, the challenge takes participants across all 26 Swiss cantons, linking spectacular alpine passes, rolling countryside, pristine lakes, and historic towns into one unforgettable journey.
Unlike traditional bikepacking races, SUCH combines a fixed set of mandatory checkpoints with strategic route planning. Riders must visit every checkpoint while remaining entirely within Switzerland, choosing their own route between them. This creates a different challenge for every participant, where navigation and decision-making are just as important as endurance.
The event follows a strict self-supported philosophy. Riders are responsible for their own navigation, accommodation, food, and mechanical repairs, with no outside assistance permitted. Available in Solo, Pairs, and Relay categories, SUCH places a strong emphasis on fair play, community, and the spirit of adventure over pure competition.
From legendary Alpine climbs and emerald valleys to quiet rural roads and crystal-clear lakes, SUCH showcases the incredible diversity of Switzerland in a single ride. Combining strategic route planning with world-class scenery, it has become one of Europe’s most original and rewarding ultra-distance cycling challenges.
Based on this event's terrain, difficulty and riding style.
SUCH24 covers 950 km with 18000 m of climbing along the way — a steadily rolling profile from start to finish.
A Endurance Road Bike is the right tool for SUCH24. Set it up with 30-35mm Tubeless rubber and gear it low — a 46/30T-50/34T (2x) chainring and 10-36T cassette will keep you spinning on the steeper sections.
Expect a Advanced-tier challenge at SUCH24 — steadily rolling, with a healthy amount of climbing climbing over mostly smooth, fast-rolling surfaces, with mild and generally comfortable weather typical for the time of year.
SUCH24 runs on September 2, 2026, placing it firmly in the autumn riding season, as conditions start cooling but daylight hours are shrinking.
SUCH24 runs primarily on road, and we'd recommend 30-35mm Tubeless tires to handle it comfortably.
