GRAVAL Bikepacking Adventure is a self-supported gravel ultracycling event that explores the remote interior landscapes of Valencia, Cuenca, and Teruel in eastern Spain. Organised by GRAVAL, the event combines rugged gravel roads, quiet secondary roads, and wild mountain terrain into an intense yet approachable bikepacking challenge.
The 2026 edition covers more than 400 kilometres with approximately 7,000 metres of elevation gain, starting and finishing in Valencia, Spain. Riders follow a fixed GPX route through natural parks, remote villages, and high-altitude landscapes, including the ascent of Pico de Javalambre, reaching around 2,000 metres above sea level. The route is predominantly gravel, with a mix of fast tracks, rougher off-road sections, and occasional hike-a-bike segments.
GRAVAL follows a strict self-supported philosophy. Riders are responsible for their own navigation, food, accommodation, and mechanical repairs, with no outside assistance permitted. The event has a 60-hour time limit, requiring participants to carefully manage their pacing, sleep, and resupply strategy throughout the non-stop challenge.
With its combination of Mediterranean scenery, remote mountain terrain, and demanding gravel riding, GRAVAL Bikepacking Adventure offers a true taste of Spanish bikepacking culture. It is an ideal challenge for riders seeking a compact but intense ultra-distance adventure in one of Europe’s most varied gravel regions.
